Monstera deliciosa has this name because, while it rarely flowers as a houseplant, outdoors it does and the flowers develop into edible fruits. It is said its fruit tastes like a combination of tropical fruits (banana, pineapple and mango) hence the name “deliciosa”. It is native to Mexico and Central America.
Water: Regular but moderate watering, whenever the top of the soil feels dry.
Light: Indirect bright sunlight, but it is torelant to low light. Leaves might burn in direct sun.
Special Feature: Very easy to care and will endure many years.
Toxicity: It is toxic to cats, dogs and children.
